Post-Processing of Stream Flows in Switzerland with an Emphasis on Low Flows and Floods
Abstract: Post-processing has received much attention during the last couple of years within the hydrological community, and many different methods have been developed and tested, especially in the field of flood forecasting. Apart from the different meanings of the phrase “post-processing” in meteorology and hydrology, in this paper, it is regarded as a method to correct model outputs (predict...
متن کاملNowhere-zero 5-flows
We prove that every cyclically 6-edge-connected cubic graph with oddness at most 4 has a nowhere-zero 5-flow. Therefore, a possible minimum counterexample to the 5-flow conjecture has oddness at least 6.
متن کاملRealizing Degree Sequences with Graphs Having Nowhere-Zero 3-Flows
The following open problem was proposed by Archdeacon: Characterize all graphical sequences π such that some realization of π admits a nowhere-zero 3-flow. This open problem is solved in this paper with the following complete characterization: A graphical sequence π = (d1, d2, . . . , dn) with minimum degree at least two has a realization that admits a nowhere-zero 3-flow if and only if π 6= (3...
متن کاملNowhere-Zero 5-Flows On Cubic Graphs with Oddness 4
Tutte’s 5-Flow Conjecture from 1954 states that every bridgeless graph has a nowhere-zero 5-flow. In 2004, Kochol proved that the conjecture is equivalent to its restriction on cyclically 6-edge connected cubic graphs. We prove that every cyclically 6-edge-connected cubic graph with oddness at most 4 has a nowhere-zero 5-flow.
متن کاملOn Recurrence in Zero Dimensional Flows
For an action of a finitely generated group G on a compact space X we define recurrence at a point and then show that, when X is zero dimensional, the conditions (i) pointwise recurrence, (ii) X is a union of minimal sets and (iii) the orbit closure relation is closed in X ×X, are equivalent. As a corollary we get that for such flows distality is the same as equicontinuity. In the last part of ...
